 One Important Vitamin You're Not Getting Enough Of...

We eat a healthy diet in order to receive the nutrients we need to survive.  But what if you aren't getting what you need? One important vitamins that our bodies need to survive is Vitamin B, and and getting enough can be a challenge, especially for vegans and vegetarians.
 
Why we need Vitamin B12
 
Vitamin B is an essential vitamin that is responsible for keeping the nerves and blood cells healthy as well as prevent a type of anemia that makes people weak and tired, according to the National Institute of Health.  But the challenge with vitamin B12 is that it's not found in plants, unless fortified. This presents a major problem for vegans and vegetarians that do not eat meat.   So how much vitamin B is enough?  Below is a list of recommended daily values provided by the National Institute of Health.


Where to find Vitamin B


Vitamin B is found in fish, meat, poultry, eggs and in most dairy products. To put it into perspective on how much vitamin B these foods contain, one large egg contains about .44 mcg's of vitamin B and 4 ounces of chicken contains .21 ounces, according to the National Institute of Health.
 
Vitamin B Deficiencies


If your not getting enough vitamin b in your diet or your body is not absorbing the vitamin correctly you could be deficient.  Below are a list of some common symptoms that might be present when the body is lacking vitamin B.

-Fatigue
-Weakness
-Decrease brain function
-Constipation
-Loss of Appetite
-Nerve problems
-Problems with Balance
-Depression
